European Ground Motion Risk Assessment Tool
- Acronym: RASTOOL
- Start Date: 01/04/2022
- Duration: 24 months
- Total Budget: €528,946
- HSGME Budget: €58,808
The RASTOOL program is a European tool for assessing ground motion risk. Its objective is to provide standardized, harmonized, and reliable information on ground movements caused by natural and anthropogenic phenomena, with millimeter-level precision, across the entire European continent, delivered consistently and at regular intervals.
RASTOOL will automatically analyze results and generate maps to support the assessment of hazard, exposure, and risk related to both natural and human-induced geohazards.
The project is supervised by EuroGeoSurveys and involves 16 Geological Surveys. HSGME is responsible for the scientific coordination of the Geological Surveys, while the EuroGeoSurveys Secretariat manages the administrative and financial aspects of the project.
