Project Scope:
The project involves the modernization and renewal of the permanent exhibition of the HSGME's Museum of Minerals and Rocks. Its aim is to meet contemporary audience expectations, attract new visitor groups, and enrich the museum with complementary functions that will provide modern, high-quality experiences and services to visitors.
Purpose – Expected Outcomes:
The project aims to establish the first National Geological Museum of Greece. The museum will offer modern, high-quality experiences and services to visitors and will also serve as an educational center. Recently, an educational program proposed by HSGME was approved by the Directorate for Sustainability Education and Program Support of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. The program will address school students and university students, while also promoting geological and related knowledge to the wider public. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the museum’s exhibits alongside tours of HSGME’s laboratory facilities (such as the Electron Microscope, the Rock and Bottled Water Analysis Laboratory, the Decorative Stone Quality Control Laboratory, etc.), as well as its extensive scientific library.
