Project Scope:
The project concerns the participation of the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (HSGME) in the activities of international organizations such as:
- European Geological Surveys Organization (EuroGeoSurveys – EGS).
 - International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS).
 - European Construction Technology Platform (ECTP).
 - EIT Raw Materials – the world’s largest consortium in the field of raw materials. Its vision is to position raw materials as a major strength for Europe, and its mission is to enable the sustainable competitiveness of the European minerals, metals, and materials sectors across the entire value chain by promoting innovation, education, and entrepreneurship.

Purpose – Expected Outcomes:
- Coordinated handling of issues related to geosciences, strengthening their role, and establishing a permanent network for information exchange and the provision of technical advice to EU authorities.
 - Active contribution of HSGME to the formulation of EU policies.
 - Participation in thematic geoscientific networks aimed at knowledge transfer and data sharing.
 - Engagement in initiatives through joint research programs, international geological conferences, and collaborations with equivalent scientific institutions.
 - Advancement of the geosciences sector to higher levels of performance and competitiveness.
 - Contribution to the analysis of major challenges facing the sector in terms of society, sustainability, and technological progress.
 - Participation in the development of research and innovation strategies to address future challenges and meet societal needs in the coming decades.
 - Involvement in European and international lobbies to participate in decision-making processes and in consortia or partnerships implementing large-scale competitive projects.

The financial benefits resulting from HSGME’s contributions to these international organizations will be manifold, as participation in key decision-making centers will enable access to high-budget research projects, easing the burden on the national budget and strengthening the organization’s role in European thematic networks and policy development.
