Physical Object:
The project’s physical scope includes the publication of the magazine “Hellenic Geosphere” in Greek, which will be issued every four months (three issues per year) in both electronic and printed form (an ISSN has already been registered). Each issue will feature a variety of articles that will effectively showcase the public service work of HSGME and highlight the contribution of its personnel to the collective effort for improving quality of life in Greece. The magazine will cover, among other topics:
- Results of projects implemented under national and co-funded programs,
- Topics related to national policies (e.g., policy on Mineral Raw Materials, water policy),
- Topics related to EU policies (e.g., INSPIRE Directive, maritime spatial planning),
- Various Institute activities (e.g., contribution to natural disaster management),
- Current topics related to geosciences,
- The regular column “Geology in Simple Terms” for younger readers,
- A calendar of upcoming events (conferences, workshops, exhibitions), etc.
“Hellenic Geosphere” will be available on HSGME’s website and promoted through digital channels (email and social media). The printed edition (200 copies) will be distributed to public and private organizations, local authorities, libraries, schools, and various services. Additionally, an annual English-language edition will be published, presenting the most significant projects and activities of the Organization from the previous year.
Finally, the project includes the redesign and restructuring of the HSGME website, following modern standards and functionalities, along with content renewal to highlight all institutional activities and provide users with optimized interaction tools (e.g., map e-shop, contact forms, application submission tools, etc.).
Purpose – Expected Results:
The purpose of the proposed project, through the electronic and printed editions of the magazine and its promotion via social media, is to achieve wide readership and outreach to diverse audiences across professional, educational, age, and geographical backgrounds. Finally, the dissemination of the results of the Authority’s implemented projects (annual report) will contribute to fulfilling its obligation to ensure information transparency and accessibility both nationally and internationally.
