The Response Team of H.S.G.M.E. once again stood by the municipalities affected by natural disasters.
Following a request from the Municipality of Patmos, the Head of the Directorate of General and Applied Geology (DIGEG), Mr. Nikos Nikolaou, visited the island to conduct on-site inspections of landslide and rockfall phenomena.
Together with the Mayor, Mr. Eleftherios Pentes, he visited the affected areas in Skala and Chora on February 20–21, 2021, where he carried out field inspections of the road network and residential zones. He also assessed the situation and provided guidance to prevent potential accidents.
It is noted that the phenomena in Patmos occurred after the intense rainfall on February 1, 2021.
