The Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (EAGME), in collaboration with the Hellenic Institute of Road Safety – “Panos Mylonas” (IOAS), held today at its facilities in the Olympic Village an educational road safety seminar titled “Avenue for Traffic Safety.”
The aim of the program was to provide both theoretical and experiential training, as well as to raise awareness and inform EAGME employees about road safety issues, taking into account that the Authority operates a fleet of official vehicles used for field research activities throughout the country.
The training was conducted by experienced instructors from the Institute of Road Safety “Panos Mylonas” and included the following modules:
- Theoretical session on the Principles of Road Safety using audiovisual media.
- Practical training through the use of IOAS simulators.
For the implementation of the program, advanced and unique equipment in Greece was used, allowing participants to safely experience the risks and discomfort caused by traffic accidents, while also encouraging reflection on various aspects of road safety during their travel.
The hands-on activities of the seminar included:
- Driving simulator with 40 different programs.
- Car rollover simulator.
- Crash simulator.
- Reflex measurement and stopping distance calculation device.
- “Weight-speed correlation scale.”
- “Drunk goggles” simulation.
- Distraction awareness activity.
