A team from the H.S.G.M.E. carried out an on-site inspection of a landslide that occurred in the Municipality of Preveza. Specifically, following a request from the Municipality of Preveza and the Region of Epirus to the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (HSGME) was activated for the investigation of a landslide in T.K. Sfinoto.
On February 18, 2021, a team from the H.S.G.M.E., consisting of geologists from the Regional Unit of Epirus, Dr. Evangelos Nikolaou (Head of the RUE) and Panagiotis Paschos, conducted an on-site inspection of a landslide that occurred on a resident’s property, located immediately adjacent to her home.
The inspection was carried out in coordination with the Deputy Mayor of Preveza, Mr. Konstantinos Akrivis, and the property owner. The HSGME scientists provided guidance on the necessary interventions to be implemented.
