In the presence of numerous representatives from the scientific and academic community, the presentation of the book by Emeritus Professor of Geology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Spyros Pavlides, titled “The Creation of the Aegean: From Poetry to Geosciences”, took place yesterday at the Amphitheatre of the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (EAGME) in the Olympic Village.
The event was organized by the General Director of EAGME, Mr. Dionysios Goutis, in collaboration with Germanos Publications.
The book was introduced by Dr. Vasilis Tselepides, Geologist and Director of Financial and Administrative Services at EAGME, while the author was presented by Dr. Georgios Vougioukalakis, representative of EAGME employees.
Speakers on the book included Dr. Dimitris Galanakis, Head of the Department of Management, Prevention and Response to Technological Hazards, Dr. Sotiris Sboras from the National Observatory of Athens, and Dr. Charalampos Georgiou, Head of the Administrative Services and Payroll Department at EAGME.
The event was dedicated to the memory of Dr. Georgios Oikonomou, Geologist–Mineralogist of the former IGME/EAGME.
