The Director of Water Resources and Geothermal Energy (DYPGE) of the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration, Mr. Panagiotis Sambatakakis, speaking on an ERT morning program on August 14, 2021, referred to the serious likelihood of flooding occurring in the fire-affected areas with the onset of the first rains.
Mr. Sambatakakis emphasized on the “ERT Weekend” program that the necessary interventions must be implemented immediately — starting as early as September.
