The seismic activity has not affected the Nisyros volcano, emphasized Dr. George Vougioukalakis, volcanologist at the H.S.G.M.E., in an interview given on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, to ERT3 and the program “Perimetros.”
Dr. Vougioukalakis spoke about the H.S.G.M.E.’s extensive research on multiple fronts concerning the Nisyros volcano, the results of which consistently indicate that there is no volcanic activity of concern. He also discussed the differences between the Nisyros volcano and La Palma in the Canary Islands.
