The Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (H.S.G.M.E.) received approval from the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs to implement the educational program “The Wonderful World of Minerals and Rocks”, aimed at teachers and students of Primary and Secondary Education for the 2020–2021 school year.
The educational program includes – among other activities – a guided tour of the H.S.G.M.E. Museum, which hosts rock, mineral, and fossil specimens from various regions of Greece as well as from Brazil, India, China, Russia, Tibet, Romania, Bulgaria, and more.
Students will have the opportunity to observe minerals and rocks through a digital microscope (TOP), visit the Bottled Water Quality Control Laboratory, tour the “LITHOS” laboratory, and attend educational presentations in the amphitheater.
The program is conducted with the mandatory presence of the class teacher and does not exceed two hours in duration.
