Funded by the Green Fund, the Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (H.S.G.M.E.) has completed the design and production of the digital content for the “Interactive Geological Map of Greece,” which digitally depicts the main areas of Geology and mining activity. The project’s budget amounts to €40,000, including 24% VAT.
The Interactive Geological Map will be made available to the public upon completion of the renovation and modernization works of the National Geological Museum, whose reopening is scheduled soon.
As part of the overall redesign and upgrade of the National Geological Museum, located within its premises, the Administration of H.S.G.M.E. is developing several digital applications with an educational and environmental focus, targeting visitors of all ages, with particular emphasis on school-age students. The design, installation, and operation of these digital tools include innovative features such as large-scale projections, VR headsets, interactive maps, touchscreen educational games, audiovisual displays, and audio systems for oral testimonies, among others.
