The Hellenic Survey of Geology and Mineral Exploration (EAGME), in collaboration with the Hellenic Red Cross, organized an information and awareness campaign on breast cancer prevention at the Authority’s Amphitheatre.
The educational program “I learn... and I prevent” was attended with great interest by the female staff members of EAGME.
The trainers from the Hellenic Red Cross presented and analyzed the following:
- Hands-on training in breast self-examination using educational models
- Clinical breast examination (palpation)
- Prescription of imaging screening tests for breast cancer prevention
- Distribution of printed informational material
The General Director of EAGME, Mr. Dionysios Goutis, stated: “Through this initiative, we wanted to remind the women of EAGME to take care of themselves. We now all know that breast cancer, when diagnosed early, is fully curable. Therefore, we all have a duty to be present in the fight for awareness and prevention, to help save lives. I would like to warmly thank the Hellenic Red Cross for their immediate response and the successful implementation of this initiative.”
